Defense Logistics Agency INSTRUCTION DLAI Effective September 8, 2014 J34(TQ) SUBJECT: Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) packaging Program References: Refer to Enclosure 1. 1. PURPOSE. In accordance with the authority in DODM , Volume 9 (Reference (a)), this Issuance reissues DLAI 1506 (Reference (b)) to update policy, responsibility, and procedures necessary to the effective, efficient and economical conduct of packaging materiel for the Agency s business in accordance with AR 700-15/NAVSUPINST 24-206/MCO (Reference (c)). 2. APPLICABILITY. This INSTRUCTION applies to all DLA activities. 3. DEFINITIONS. See Glossary 4. POLICY. a. In accordance with Reference (a), materiel must be procured, received, stored, and shipped with adequate, continuous packaging protection at the lowest overall cost.
