NDC Requirement for Drugs Reported on Professional and Institutional Claims Goes Into Effect November 1, 2017 In December, Florida Blue temporarily postponed the implementation of new billing requirements for Drugs Reported on professional and institutional claims that required National Drug Codes (NDC) numbers for drug HCPCS/CPT. The only exception was related to Unlisted Drug HCPCS/CPT codes. The temporary postponement allowed adequate time for Florida Blue contracted facilities and providers to align with the new billing guidelines. Effective November 1, 2017, Florida Blue will implement the NDC-required changes in support of with industry standards to enhance claim reporting and improving adjudication processes.
