Based solely on non-Government standards , MRI provides a valuable tool for asset management from acquisition through manufacture to logistics.

This standard provides the item marking crite ria for development of specific marking requirements and methods for identification of items of military property produced, stocked, stored, and issued by or for the Department of Defense.
