Thetraditional perception is that finance tends only to seethe figures, whereas HR tends to focus on thequalitative , TALENT management provides a frameworkwhich can be seen as the creation of a language whichcan unite finance and HR. There is a logic to talentmanagement which means that functions outside HRembrace it. TALENT and potentialTalent management is the process by which anorganisation identifies, attracts, manages, developsand engages people to meet current and futurebusiness needs. There is contention about the terms TALENT and potential . These terms create emotive responses fromnormally rational people. The organisation could fallfoul of legislation, confuse, de-motivate and at worstlose people if there is a lack of clarity about what theorganisation means when it refers to TALENT or potential.
