Both networks have been developed by Rockwell Automation, but are now owned and maintained by the two manufacturer's organizations ODVA (Open DeviceNet Vendors Association) and ControlNet International. ODVA and ControlNet International have recently introduced the newest member of this family ethernet /IP ("IP" stands for " Industrial Protocol ").
TCP/IP is available for all of these devices and is a logical choice for integrating these devices into a LAN.
