As diligentlyand earnestly as contractors are in attempting to meetdesigners expectations, the misinterpretation of nonspe-cific terms such as industry standards or workmanlikefinish is inevitable. New terminology has become neces-sary to enable the various stakeholders to share an under-standing of project 1988, four major construction trade associations theGypsum Association, the Association of the Wall andCeiling Industries International, the Ceiling & InteriorSystems Construction Association, and the Painting andDecorating Contractors of America-collaborated todevelop that terminology and resolve the problem.
