Employers are required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), clause 25(2)(a), to provide information, instruction, and supervision to protect the health or safety of workers. Where workers are exposed to hazards such as flashover, rollover, or backdraft employers need to provide their personnel with the appropriate information, instruction, and supervision to ensure that firefighters understand the various hazardous fire conditions to which they may be exposed, as well as the controls required for them to protect their health or safety.
