New Educational environments require different ways of designing learning experiences for students as well as new approaches to teaching and assessment. The call for Educational reform away from passive transmission-based learning and the imparting of discrete skills and processes is not new. Institutions of education around the world are reconsidering some of their most deeply-held assumptions about how they conceptualize learning and to what end education should be directed.
