This paper examines various definitions and meanings of the term strategy and related terms ( , policy, tactics, ends and means). Its aim is to clarify and make those terms more useful. The concept of strategy has been adopted from the military and adapted for use in business. A review of what noted writers have to say about business strategy suggests that the adoption was easy because the adaptation was modest.
