Log files help you to keep a record of your work, and lets you extract output. When using extension *.log any word processor can open the file. Click on “Save as type:” right below ‘File name:” and . select Log (*.log). This will create the file *.log which can be read by any word processor or by Stata (go to File – Log – View).
