Guidance for completing your CITP personal statement This document provides prompts to help you complete your personal statement . Your personal statement is a key document in your application for registration as a Chartered IT Professional. It is where you need to give a clear and concise overview of your experience against the four areas of autonomy, influence, complexity and business skills and evidence to demonstrate your breadth of knowledge. As well as enabling a peer review of your application, the information you provide will help the BCS assessors prepare for your skills assessment interview where they will also probe your breadth of knowledge. Breadth of knowledge The definition of breadth of knowledge for CITP registrants is: Knowledge of the broad scope of IT beyond that required for the individual s area of specialism. If you have a degree that is accredited by BCS with full accreditation for CITP, you need to enter the title of the degree, the awarding institution and the date of award.
