Restricted quarry Manager s ( explosives and Non- explosives ) certificate Guide Page 1 of 2 Restricted quarry Manager s ( explosives and Non- explosives ) certificate of Competency The Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 [r. ] requires the applicant to submit the following documentation. 1. Evidence that he or she has attained the age of 21 years ( passport or driver s licence). 2. Evidence that he or she has had experience in or about a quarry for a period of not less than two years, of which period at least one year has been first hand practical experience in production operations in a quarry or open pit, including not less than three months practical experience in the use of explosives and blasting agents in a pit. Note: Applicants without experience in the use of explosives and blasting agents may apply for a certificate that is Restricted to operations where explosives are not used . Written evidence of the above must be provided and signed off by a responsible officer of the company in which the experience has been gained and submitted under relevant company letterhead.
