If a make is not listed, the code ZZZ should be entered as characters 1 through 3 of the MAK Field with the actual manufacturer's name appearing in positions 4 through 23. This manufacturer's name will appear as entered in any record response. If the MAK Field code is ZZZ and positions 4 through 23 are blank, the MAK Field will be translated as MAK/UNKNOWN in the record response. For unlisted makes, the CJIS Division staff should be contacted at 304-625-3000 for code assignments.
