Hydrogen BondsHydrogen Bonds have played an incredibly important role in the history of structuralbiology. Both the structure of DNA and of protein a-helices and b-sheets were predictedbased largely on the Hydrogen Bonds these structures form. So understanding hydrogenbonds is clearly important, but much like the hydrophobic effect, Hydrogen Bonds aresurprisingly complex and are not completely understood in every last detail.
