Much of the local concern stems from the fact that the community has been depending on tourist trade to stimulate the economy. If the water level continues to drop at the present rate it may soon become impossible to launch boats at the Wahweap site, and moving the launching area back to Warm Creek would be detrimental as a tourist attraction.
