LECTURE 8 Pipelining: Datapathand Control
PIPELINED DATAPATHFOR LOAD WORD Let’s walk through the datapathusing the load word instruction as an example. Load word is a good instruction to start with because it is active in every stage of the pipelined datapath. Note that in the following datapaths, the righthalf of registers or memory are shaded when they are being read.

LECTURE 5 Single-Cycle Datapathand Control
www.cs.fsu.eduThe ALUperforms the operation indicated by the instruction. It takes two operands, as well as a 4-bit wide operation selectorvalue. The result of the operation is the output value. ALU operation is a part of the control. We discuss datapathfirst. We have an additional output specifically for branching – we will cover this in a minute.

Load Switch Basics - NXP
www.nxp.comAt the heart of any load switch is a MOSFET (usually an enhancement mode device) that is either integrated into a load switch integrated circuit, or for higher power handling requirements, can be a discrete device. The MOSFET passes current from the power source to the load and is turned on or off via a control signal.
