In Chapter 3, page I-9, under Coding Tips in I: active diagnoses in the Last 7 Days, a third bullet has been added: If the diagnosis of UTI was made prior to the resident s admission, entry, or reentry into the facility, it is not necessary to obtain or evaluate the evidence-based criteria used to make the diagnosis in the prior setting.
Active Diagnoses in the Last 7 Days, clarification was needed regarding the coding of UTI, when the diagnosis of UTI was made prior to the resident’s admission, entry, or reentry into the facility. In Chapter 3, page I-9, under “Coding Tips” in I: Active Diagnoses in the Last 7 Days, a third bullet has been added:
