A quantitative survey was conducted initially to deepen understanding of the topic in response to a gap in the literature. In this article, Cameron (2018) critiques and justifies the use of the quantitative survey to inform and develop the research questions that guided the qualitative phase of the study, framed as instrumental case studies.
