Morphology of Permanent Molars
Study a cast of all permanent teeth, or Figure 5-1, while learning the position of molars in the arch. There are 12 permanent molars: six maxillary and six mandibular. The six permanent molars in each arch are the first, sec-ond, and third molars on either side of the arch. They are the sixth, seventh, and eighth teeth from the mid-line.
