Obituaries George Mathew Pavlik, 90, of Windsor Heights left this world September 19, 2009, and entered the next where the steak is always sizzling, the fish are always biting and the game is always on. He was born of Michael and Susanna (Majersky) Pavlik in Cherry, Illinois. George grew up in Melrose, Iowa and was a proud member of the 1937 Iowa high school state basketball championship team. He served his country during WWII in the North African Theater with the Army Air Corp 82nd Squadron, 12th Bomb Group (Earthquakers). On May 16, 1947, George was united in marriage to Virginia Erlene Houser.
