Procurement Process and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act May, 2005 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Public companies are spending a great deal of time and effort to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOA). The measuring stick as to whether a company meets the standards of SOA is determined by the effectiveness of the design of and compliance to its internal processes. These internal processes include control activities used to ensure the reliability of the financial reporting and disclosure.
