REDC Round 11 Programs Program Program Description NYS Canal Corporation (Canals). The Canalway Grants Program is a competitive matching grant program available to eligible municipalities and 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations along the New York State Canal System. Funding is Canalway Matching Grant for capital projects that expand public access, increase visitation and recreational use, stimulate private Program (Canals) investment, improve services and amenities for Canalway land and water trail users, and enhance the connections between the canal and the corresponding region consistent with the Reimagine the Canals initiative as well as the Regional Economic Development Councils Strategic Plans.
