recurrent genital herpes in pregnant women11 acyclovir 400 mg orally 3x/day OR valacyclovir 500 mg orally 2x/day Genital Herpes Simplex 7 Treatment can be extended if healing is incomplete after 10 days of therapy. 8 Acyclovir 200 mg orally five times/day is also effective but is not recommended because of the frequency of dosing.
