NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION RALEIGHSTANDARD Specifications FORROADS AND Structures JANUARY 2018 FOREWORD This publication has been prepared to provide a compilation of Standard requirements used by the North Carolina Department of Transportation for construction contracts. When this publication, entitled Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures , dated January 2018, is incorporated by reference into the Department s construction bid proposals or contracts; it is made a part of that document and shall be known as the Standard Specifications . The requirements stated herein may be revised or amended from time to time by Supplemental Specifications , by Standard Special Provisions which are unique to a select group of projects or by Project Special Provisions which are unique to the specific bid proposal or contract.
When this publication, entitled Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, dated January 2018, is incorporated by reference into the Department’s construction bid proposals or contracts; it is made a part of that document and shall be known as the Standard Specifications.
