The Prescott An Ottawa Tradition Since 1934. On a September day in 1934, Antonio Disipio established the Preston Hotel from his Preston Street home. The windows on the front read purveyors of beer and wine, but Antonio's kitchen became famous for its' meatball sandwiches, pasta dishes and its' unique square pizzas. The Preston Hotel, renamed The Prescott in 1941, was the first hotel when entering Ottawa via The Prescott highway and consequently the last when leaving. Hence, our nickname The Last Chance . was born and still used by many today. Our home has changed with expansion over the years, but the tradition of our hearty Italian food and our famous square pizza continues today. Buono Appetito .
