Meeks State Board of Education Chairman STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION The State Board of Education consists of nine members who are appointed by the Governor with the consent of the Senate. Board members serve four-year terms, with membership limited to two consecutive terms. The Board appoints the State Superintendent of Education, who may be recommended by the Governor.
