With the V2X technology, we can use electricity stored in the large-capacity batteries of electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) when necessary. To realize this concept, Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. has developed various technologies related to EVs, PHEVs, and infrastructure. This paper outlines our EV and PHEV. bidirectional charging system to be used for V2X power flow.
