A beam system with cu-bic stiffness type non-linearity was used in the experimentalstudy. The non-linear response was measured at three loca-tions and the underlying linear system was obtained via linearmodal analysis of low-excitation response data. The non-linear parameter variations were obtained as a function of themodal amplitude and the response of the system was gener-ated for other force levels.
