Chapter Seven of the WHITE PAPER on Defenceaddressed arms control and the DEFENCE related industries, and stated that government wouldprepare a WhitePaper on the DEFENCE industry. The DoD began such preparations within the context of the DEFENCE Review,which built upon the policy framework of the WHITE PAPER on 21 August 1996 Cabinet tasked the National Conventional Arms Control Committee (NCACC) to initiate andoversee the preparation of a WHITE PAPER on the SOUTH AFRICAN DEFENCE industry.
