CaliforniaTeaching Performance Expectations
Teaching Performance Assessment (TPA) based on the TPEs. Beginning teachers must meet these requirements prior to being recommended for a preliminary teaching credential in California. TPEs guide teacher preparation program development; candidate competency with respect tothe TPEs is measured through the TPA.
