Electrical Safety Testing Reference Guide
Feb 28, 2001 · An insulation resistance testmeasures the quality of the electrical insulation used in a product. A leakage current testchecks that the current that flows between AC source and ground does not exceed a safe limit. A ground continuity testchecks that a path exists between all exposed conductive metal surfaces and the power system ground.
