Professional Nursing Practice: An Update
ANA has developed Standards of Professional Nursing Practicewhich apply to all practicing registered nurses. ANA first published standards of nursing practice in 1973 and has regularly reviewed and revised the standards to reflect changes in practice. The standards reflect the values and priorities of the nursing profession.
