Health risks affecting healthy, productive adulthood and future generations 11. Behaviours. Some behaviours initiated during adolescence have important consequences for health in adulthood. Unprotected sex, physical inactivity, and the use of tobacco, alcohol and illicit drugs all contribute to 17% of the global burden of disease in all ages.
