They include design features that guard against pipe loadand thermal distortions. The following features assure long andtrouble free service life of bearings, driver coupling, and shaftsealing devices. Centerline mounted pump casing support allows thermalexpansion of the casing about the pump centerline withoutdisturbing shaft alignment Centerline mounted pump casing supported with yoke orpedestal mounts (water-cooled pedestal mounts also avail-able)
2 Holds the pump securely in place resisting thermalexpansion piping loads Centerline suction and discharge connections equalize pipeloads to prevent off center forces and distortion Deep precision rabbeted joints on the casing and bearinghousing allow accurate assembly and hold the assembledpump rigidly in line Totally confined high temperature casing gasket providessafety during operating service conditions Back pull-out construction with spacer coupling allows theentire pump rotating assembly to be removed for servicingwithout removing the casing from the piping or disturbing thedriver Fully enclosed Francis vane impeller design is keyed to theshaft and secured by an impeller bolt and washer to remainrigidly in place under all load conditions. The design ishydraulically balanced to extend bearing and seal ring clearances are to API refinery requirements foroptimum efficiency ASME/ANSI Class 300 Raised Face or Ring TypeJoint flanges are available for high pressures Casing wear rings (R400/R4000 and RMA Series only)
