2 Trisotech Insulation consists of a rigid,closed cell Polyisocyanurate foam core laminated onboth sides to a black, fiber reinforced, non-asphaltic Insulation is offered as 20 psi compressivestrength as a standard, and a 25 psi compressive strengthversion is available upon request. Trisotech Insulation isCFC and HCFC free and the facers are manufacturedfrom 100% recycled material (combination pre-con-sumer and post-consumer)Basic Uses: Trisotech Insulation is used to providehigh thermal Insulation under most roof membranesystems.
3 Trisotech is recommended for use in combi-nation with a coverboard in hot and cold applied BURand MB roof systems. Trisotech Insulation is also avail-able in tapered configurations. Trisotech Insulationmeets ASTM C 1289-11, Type II, Class I, Grade 2 (20psi) and Grade 3 (25 psi).Limitations: Not intended for use under ponding drainage is required. Not to be exposed to solvents, oils or other contam-inants harmful to Polyisocyanurate foam Insulation . Insulation stops are required on roofs with slopes of2:12 (2" per foot) or greater.
4 Not for use directly under hot applied roof mem-branes. A wood fiber overlay Board is required priorto the application of a hot applied roof membrane. Not for use in direct contact with lightweight insu-lating concrete or recently poured gypsum decks. For adhered systems where a cover Board is notspecified, multiple layers of Trisotech must be usedwhen the total Insulation thickness is or greater. For adhered single ply systems when a cover boardis not specified, the maximum thickness for the toplayer of Trisotech is.
5 Sizes: Trisotech Insulation is available in truckloadquantities in 4' x 4' (1220mm x 1220mm) or 4' x 8'(1220mm x 2440mm) Board panels and packaged ondunnage. Thicknesses range from 1" (25mm) to 4"(101mm). Contact your Tremco Representative for afull list of available Trisotech Insulation is specified for applicationin FAS-n-FREE Adhesive or hot bitumen, the recom-mended Board size is 4' x 4'. Board sizes of 4' x 8' areonly acceptable when mechanical attachment of insu-lation is APPLICATION DATA: roof replacement usually involves more complexitiesthan new construction Roofing .
6 Often encounteredare situations such as rusted/deteriorated decks, rot-ted wood components, rooftop equipment whichcannot be moved or shut down, and numerous following application information is designed toserve as a general guide. Your local TremcoRepresentative will prepare detailed specificationsbased on the condition of your Decks:Must be properly designed andstructurally : Ponding conditions are unacceptable andwill adversely affect the performance of any roofingsystem.
7 If positive drainage does not exist, waterremoval from the roof surface must be facilitated bylowering drains, and/or installing additional drains,tapered Insulation , or Tremco approved cellular con-crete Storage: Insulation must be dry and keptdry. When stored outdoors, stack Insulation on palletsat least 4 inches (100mm) above ground level. Uponreceipt of Insulation on the job site, remove the facto-ry plastic packaging. Cover the top and sides of theinsulation with waterproof tarpaulin (not polyethylene)and secure.
8 Do not stack more than two pallets Preparation: Prior to installing the Insulation ,the substrate must be clean, dry and free of dust, dirt,oil, or other contaminants. After securing the first layer of Insulation , installthe additional layer(s) with the Board joints offset aminimum 6 inches (150mm) from the joints of thepreceding layer.
10 Two layers, with Board joints offset,can minimize stress on the roof membrane whichresults from thermal movement of the deck. Adhesive Application: Tremco Fas-n-Free, TremcoLow Rise Foam Adhesive, and Tremco Low Rise FoamAdhesive Green are recommended for use withTrisotech Insulation . Obtain and read the SpecificationData Sheets for adhesive products prior to Application: Hot applied asphalt can be usedto adhere Trisotech to concrete decks, to base sheetswhich are mechanically attached to wood or gypsumdecks, and to Insulation layer(s) previously secured.
