This report generates estimates of mortality rates and life expectancy for Veterans for ages 20 to 85, in the 10 to 15 year periods of 1980-89, 1990-99, 2000-14, and compares them to the U. S. population. The expected life-years for Veterans in the 2000 to 2014 time period are estimated to be about 0.8 and 1.2 life-years shorter for males
