Oz The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is the full title of a children's novel written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by Baum's friend and collaborator, W.W. Denslow, who also shared the copyright. Originally published on May 17, 1900, the book was an instant commercial success and has since been translated into more than 40 languages.
