5 * Test methods of KWB -1215 VARNISH Prescribe to KS C 2312 (Testing methods of VARNISH for electrical insulation), JIS C 2105 (Testing methods of solventless liquid resins for electrical insulation). DIRECTIONS FOR USE. Mix with the VARNISH and the hardener as specified proportion. Preliminary heating -Transformers or inductors should be thoroughly heated to promote efficient impregnation. How to care VARNISH in the impregnation tank. - As slow reaction take place even under normal condition after hardener is added to solvent less insulation VARNISH , different from the case in solvent-type VARNISH , thorough care should be paid in the control of VARNISH viscosity. - Impregnation tank-cover should be tightly closed so as to keep it from foreign materials and to prevent monomer evaporation.

8 - Add fresh VARNISH without the hardener and thoroughly mix if the mixture is still remained in the impregnation tank after process, all you have to do is just to add hardener, in proportion to the volume of VARNISH you added in previous day. Storage - VARNISH and hardener should be kept in separate as in the state of original packages, and keep in a dry and cool place, away from direct sun light and fire. - Hardener is not stable enough against heat and shock including direct sun light Therefore, extraordinary care should be paid in particular.

9 HOW TO CONTROL THE VARNISH TANK. As the specific gravity and the viscosity of the VARNISH will considerably affect the degree of VARNISH adhesion, penetration and antirust properties. Especially in case of solvent less insulating VARNISH should control it for preventing gelation by the control chart. The viscosity and specific gravity of the VARNISH will change according to temperature. It would therefore be ideal to provide cooling or heating devices for maintaining the temperature of the VARNISH in the tank between 20 40 . The VARNISH in the dipping tank have to adjust the viscosity and Specific Gravity to the center control line by thinner and fresh VARNISH .

10 When adding the thinner or fresh VARNISH , stir the lot well at 20 40 in order to obtain a through mixture. When the VARNISH is to be used for impregnating purposes, the tank should be as small as nature of the operation will permit, new VARNISH being supplied as dictated by the rate of consumption. As the VARNISH in the tank will gradually become dirty through dust and the formation of gel particle, at least twice a year, the VARNISH being filtered by any suitable method. PACKING.
