Although the problem of alarm fatigue has been well documented, alarm-related events are often underreported, and there is still limited research examining interventions to address the issue. 1. In this chapter, we discuss two system-level patient safety practices (PSPs) that aim to address alarm fatigue: safety culture and risk assessment.
