Investor and company matching Achievements for the year Success stories Traderoots 41 signed business agreements facilitated Wesgro was contacted by Traderoots, an ICT service provider, in February 2017. The company wanted to explore the African estimated economic value market to grow their business. After numerous consultations with the company they decided to join Wesgro on a trade mission to Ethiopia. As a result, Traderoots succeeded in breaking into the 781 jobs Ethiopian market and signed a declaration to the value of R200. million over five years with a potential to create approximately 30 jobs.
9 Vidalonga Vidalonga, which manufactures dairy products, got in touch with Wesgro last year during the Kenya business seminar. They were previously not aware of Wesgro 's Trade offering and after consultations with the company, they have participated on facilitated a total of three Wesgro trade missions, namely to Cameroon, Kenya and Ghana. Vidalonga now exports on a monthly basis to Kenya and three Outward Foreign Ghana and recently secured an export deal of R20 million with Direct Investment a job creation prospect of five jobs, and job retention prospects Projects, to a value of of 30 jobs. Bassalicious Bassalicious, a business owned by a single mother, was originally operating out of a garage. Wesgro assisted with market access into China and Singapore and the company was provided with a platform to exhibit their range of premium sauces at SIAL China in 2016. Thereafter, Wesgro provided export training and tailored their export strategy by assisting them to negotiate and meet with owners of MyOutlets, a multi-million supermarket chain store in Asia.
10 They are currently displaying at MyOutlets Halal Supermarkets in Singapore and are receiving on-going export orders. Investment The Wesgro Investment unit's key objective is to attract and facilitate foreign and domestic direct investment into the City of Cape Town and the Western Cape.
