2 Harden 950-1050oC Oil or Air. Temper 600-650oC hold for 1 hour min. at temperature, air cool. PHYSICAL PROPERTIES Density (kg/dm3) Modulus of elasticity 103 N/mm2 215 Thermal conductivity W/( ) 25 Electric resistivity Specific heat capacity J/( ) 460 Thermal expansion 106 m/( ) 10 DESCRIPTION Heat treated 850 100 Nmm2 Martensitic , nickel bearing grade. Good corrosion resistance, excellent tensile and torque strength and good toughness. This grade can not be readily cold worked and is therefore not recommended for cold heading and bending APPLICATIONS Pump shafts, nuts & bolts, studs, valve parts, or other use where high tensile properties are required.

3 NOTE: Other Stainless steels which may be considered for these applications are BOHLER M303; UDDEHOLM Ramax; Corrax and 17-4 PH. Auckland: 25 Beach Road, Auckland, New Zealand. Ph (09) 270 1190, Fax: (09) 270 1191, E-mail: Christchruch: 6 Wigram Close, Christchurch, New Zealand. Ph (03) 348 4140, Fax: (03) 348 4340, E-mail: WELDING For joint welding, preheat parts to a temperature of 250-450oC. For building up preheat to 100-200oC. To increase toughness in the heat affected zone of the base metal, anneal welding joints at 650-750oC or conduct a new heat treatment cycle. Use Bohler SKWAM electrodes or SKWAM-IG for MIG or TIG.
