ABOUT LIVER RESECTION
• Staged liver surgery Sometimes after PVE, the healthy part of the liver that is going to remain after surgery does not grow enough to carry out the liver surgery safely. If this happens, your surgeon may offer a two-step operation called an ALPPS procedure (associated liver partitioning and portal vein ligation for staged liver surgery).
