1 2012 KSR2012A339 AC 25kV, DC 3kV Development for Propulsion System Applied Dual voltage AC25kV and DC3kV * , *, *, * Lee, Kwon, Chung, Han Abstract The electric multiple unit(EMU) uses AC power or DC power according to the feeding voltage of power station. so the EMU that is designed for one voltage level can't operate the rail way applied other voltage level. For solving this problem, we already have developed the dual voltage system EMU for AC25kV and and we have used them in revenue service interior. In foreign countries, there are various voltage level AC25kV/50Hz/60Hz, DC750V, , DC3kV, etc. In this document, we describe the development and application for the propulsion system applied in AC25kV, DC3kV dual voltage.
