To obtain additional copies of any Triumphaccessory Instructions , or contact yourauthorised Triumph the seat, as described in the the battery, negative (black) Hand SideRemove the bar end finisher and if fitted, barend mirror, as described in the Service the bar end finisher and whereapplicable, bar end mirror for reuse.

3 Right Hand SideRemove the bar end finisher and if fitted,spacer and/or bar end mirror, as described inthe Service Manual. Retain the bar end finisherand where applicable, spacer and/or bar endmirror for reuse. Left Hand the left hand grip off the the grip for reuse if the motorcycle is tobe returned to its original the plastic insert from the end of theleft hand side of the handlebars, as the plastic insert for reuse if themotorcycle is to be returned to its Plastic insertWarningThe Accessory kits covered in this instruction aredesigned for use on specific models of Triumphmotorcycle.

4 The Accessory kits and the modelsapplicable are listed at the start of the should not be fitted to any other Triumphmodel or to any other manufacturer s an Accessory kit to a Triumph model notlisted, or to any other manufacturer s motorcycle,will affect the performance, stability and handlingof the motorcycle. This may affect the rider sability to control the motorcycle and could causean have Triumph approved parts, accessoriesand conversions fitted by a trained technician ofan authorised Triumph dealer. The fitment ofparts, accessories and conversions by a technicianwho is not of an authorised Triumph dealer mayaffect the handling, stability or other aspects ofthe motorcycle s operation which will result in lossof motorcycle control and an this operation, ensure that themotorcycle is stabilised and adequately supportedto prevent risk of injury from the torque wrench of known accurate calibrationmust be used when Fitting this Accessory to tighten any of the fasteners to thecorrect torque specification may affect motorcycleperformance, handling and stability.

Withoutdisconnecting any wiring, move the switchhousing clear of the clutch lever the fixings for Fixings2. Switch housing3. Clutch lever the fixings and move the clutch leverhousing to access the hole in the handlebar forthe heated grip electrical Fixings2. Fitting heated grips to handlebars, checkthe handlebar for burrs and sharp edgesaround the access holes/slots in the handlebarwhich may damage the heated grip harness. Ifburrs or sharp edges are found, carefullyremove them using a suitable file or Handlebar2.

6 Areas to check for burrs or sharp edges123112 WarningBefore Fitting a heated grip harness into thehandlebars check the access holes/slots for anysigns of burrs or sharp burrs or sharp edges found must be removedusing a suitable file or emery paper beforeinstalling the heated grip a heated grip harness into handlebarswhere the access holes/slots have burrs or sharpedges may lead to damage of the harness. A damaged harness could lead to an electricalmalfunction which may result in loss of motorcyclecontrol and an of Fitting heated grips, ensure the heatedgrip harness is held in position and ispositioned by the flat edge of the Heated grip harness2.

7 Flat edge on handlebar10. With the heated grip switch contact facing therider, guide the heated grip harness throughthe slot in the end of the handlebar as Heated grip harness2. Slot, handlebar3. Switch holding the harness inside the heatedgrip, slide the grip onto the handlebar until theelectrical connector is visible in the hole in thehandlebar by the switch housing. Pull theheated grip harness electrical connector out ofthe handlebar and connect to the switchhousing heated grip connector, as Handlebar2. Heated grip electrical connector3. Switch housing heated grip connector12. Reposition the clutch lever housing aligning theclutch lever housing split line with thealignment mark on the handlebar.

8 Tighten theclutch lever clamp fixings , upper one first,to12 Alignment mark2. Split line, clutch lever housing3. Fixings13. Refit the switch housing with the originalfixings. Tighten the fixings to Fitting the heated grips do not excessivelytwist the grip forward or rearward. Excessivetwisting of the grip may damage the heated of 914. Ensure the grip is in the orientation shownbelow with the switch contacts facing the the new grip with the two Torx headself-tapping screws provided in the kit. Tightenthe screws to Self-tapping screw, Torx head (one of two shown)2. Heated grip3. Switch contacts15.

9 Fit the upper and lower switch housings on tothe heated grip and retain with theM4 x 10 mm screws provided in the kit. Tightenthe screws to Upper switch housing2. Lower switch housing3. Screw, M4 x 10 mm (one of two shown)Right Hand Side16. Detach the brake light switch and bracket fromthe master cylinder. Retain the fixing for the two fixings and detach the switchhousing from the handlebars. Withoutdisconnecting any wiring, move the switchhousing clear of the handlebar.
