Alumanation 301 - Tremco

INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE COATINGPRODUCT INFORMATIONDESCRIPTIONThis premium grade industrial maintenance coating is formulated from specially processed asphaltic liquids, non-drying oils, a proprietary blend of natural and synthetic fibers, and aluminum pigment. Alumanation 301 reflects heat, prevents corrosion, and protects against mild acid and alkali fumes on a variety of substrates, including metal, concrete, transite, built-up roofing and modified 301, being solvent based, can be applied in colder temperatures than its water based counterparts. The one coat application makes it a very economical and easy to use product. Alumanation 301 s aluminum finish is highly reflective, protecting the roof from harmful UV as well as keeping building cooling costs to a minimum.

Grade Hydroseal which are solvent based products. Refer to the existing coatings above for curing requirements prior to applying Alumanation 301.

1 INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE COATINGPRODUCT INFORMATIONDESCRIPTIONThis premium grade industrial maintenance coating is formulated from specially processed asphaltic liquids, non-drying oils, a proprietary blend of natural and synthetic fibers, and aluminum pigment.

2 Its high chemical resistance allows Alumanation 301 to be used in environments where exposure to acids, alkalis, and other destructive elements is 301 is used for the rustproofing and weather-proofing of; Metal roofs Sidewalls Reflective coating for BUR and modified bitumen roof systems Tanks - Exterior Bridges Structural steel Electrical Transmission Towers Piping Guard rails, etc. LIMITATIONS Do not apply when air or surface temperature is below or when rain is imminent. Not recommended for use over tar surfaces, slate, tile, wood shingles, or where water continuously ponds. Do not apply over newly installed asphalt built-up roof without allowing the roof to cure a minimum of 60-90 days. All surfaces must be clean and surface was previously coated, please contact the Tremco Technical Representative for surface preparation : Rust and flaking or peeling paint shall be wire brushed, scraped or pressure washed to ensure a sound surface. No priming is necessary because of the rust inhibiting oils in Alumanation 301.

4 Seams, fasteners, and protrusions shall be repaired as needed. Refer to Alumanation 301 specification for warranty Coatings: Alumanation 301 can be applied to asphalt or bitumen based coatings and membrane materials. If the bitumen materials are new and water based materials they require 30 days minimum to cure prior to the application of the Alumanation 301. The solvent based materials require 60 days minimum to cure allowing for all solvents and oils to cure and to weather slightly prior to the application of Alumanation Tremco Coatings: Alumanation 301 can be applied over Tremco coatings, Pabkote 3 and 5 which are water based products or Bitumen Paint, Brushable Hydroseal and Heavy Key Benefits Summary Single coat application Protects against rust Heat Reflective Finish Chemical Resistant High content of Aluminium pigment No priming on metal surfacesAlumanation 301 PRODUCT DATA SHEET03/162 PagesAlumanation 301 Grade Hydroseal which are solvent based products.

5 Refer to the existing coatings above for curing requirements prior to applying Alumanation 301. Built-Up Roofing/Modified Bitumen: Torn flashings, faulty copings, parapet walls, large blisters, overlaps/seams and surface breaks shall be repaired using Geogard Seam Sealer and Permafab Fabric in a 3 coursing process. TremLastic S can also be used in conjunction with Permafab or Rapid Set Reinforcing Fabric using the 3 coursing process. Refer to ap-propriate BUR/Modified Bitumen application specifications for additional : Seams, flashings, penetrations, blisters, and other damaged areas must be allowed to cure for 24-48 hours minimum prior to applying Alumanation 301 to the entire roof when using Geogard Seam Sealer. Increase the cure time to 48-72 hours if using TremLastic WB is a water-based asphalt primer for use on asphalt built-up and modified bitumen roof membranes.

6 Smooth surface modified bitumen requires priming prior to the application of Alumanation 301 or TremLastic S. Granular/Mineral surface modified bitumen does not require priming if the majority of the granules are still 301 CURINGThe Alumanation 301 is applied slightly thicker on Torch On Mineral surfaces and therefore the solvents in Alumanation 301 will take a little longer to flash off. This product is soft after application and if possible not to be walked on for several days. The asphalts in the mineral sheet will soften initially but will harden back up same time as the coating will over a period of time. It is important to follow the application thickness guidelines over Torch On material s to avoid permanent softening if applied over thickness.

7 When adhesion testing is required the product must be allowed to cure/stand for a minimum of 7-10 days. The strength and adhesion properties grow over the course of TRAFFICA lumanation 301 is recommended for occasional light foot traffic by maintenance Alumanation 301 by brush, roller or spray gun to specified coverage EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATION:Pumps: Graco King 45:1, Graco Bulldog 30:1 or gas powered equivalents.
