It can beused in either grease or oil applications and is availablein three sizes compatible with MSP, MH, MX/MXP, andMGO assemblies and its use is not limited by valvesection size. This switch is also available in an explo-sion-proof design with a six-foot long cable for use inMS/MH divider FSmech Proximity switch is designed to provide agreater reliability of operation when used with the verylow signal power conditions common to DC-poweredPLC s.

3 It is a magnetically activated Proximity switchthat contains a miniature snap-action switch, activatedby the attraction of its internal magnet to the dividervalve s moving piston. The 24 volt DC-only version of thisswitch is available with integral light-emitting diodes(LED) for local verification of power and cycling designs without LED s are suitable for either ACor DC power operation; there is also an explosion-proofversion with six foot long pigtail leads. FSmech proximityswitches are available for MSP, MH, and MX/MXPdivider valve type of Lubriquip Proximity Switch is available witha variety of customer-required options to fulfill each oftheir application s particular specifications: 24 VDC or115 VAC power, LED cycle indicator lights for DCapplications, and various types of electrical connectionoptions: Brad Harrison or Crouse Hinds cables witheither 3,4, or 5 pin connectors, 6 ft.

They areactuated by movements of the lube-dispensing pistoninside the section and thereby send a signal to theController indicating the rate and amount of activity of theproportioning divider as lubricant is pumped through type Switches utilize a pin attached magneticallyto a piston to cause the switch contacts to close.

5 Fieldsensing magnetic type of Switches sense the proximityof the pistons' mass to cause contact closure. When thepiston moves in the opposite direction away from theswitch, the Reed switch is deactivated by the withdrawalof the actuating pin and opens its contacts. Similarly,the FSM Proximity Switch s sensing of the piston is lostand it s contacts open. The two contact transitions(open-to-closed and closed-to-open) are detected by theMonitor/Controller, which has been programmed tointerpret such a signal as one complete cycle of thedivider section, and therefore one complete cycle of theentire SP divider valve upon the individual lubrication system sdesign and lubrication requirements, the Controller orPLC programming then uses the feedback signals fromthe Proximity Switch in each lubrication zone to startand stop the lubrication cycle periodically as required bythe system design specifications.

6 If the Controller orPLC does not receive the expected signal within a timeperiod specified in the lubrication system s design, andprogrammed into the PLC as the Monitor Time , thePLC can initiate various responses as specified by theuser.
