2 CPS guarantees thatthe transmitter , sensor, extension, and thermowellwill be shipped from the factory as an installationready assembly to save on installation Model 244E allows for great flexibility inselecting a sensor type that is appropriate for theprocess being measured. The Model 244E acceptsinputs from a wide variety of 2-, 3-, and 4-wireRTDs as well as thermocouples, millivolt, and ohmsensor Model 244E is designed with 500 VAC input tooutput isolation. This isolation helps to ensure theintegrity of the Temperature measurement inindustrial environments and not damage sensitivesystem Model 244EC Configuration Interface consistsof a programmer, cables, and configuration Model 244EE configuration software, when usedin conjunction with the interface, provides the toolsnecessary to select the sensor type, sensor range, and sensor error action in addition to manyother HEADThe Model 244EH head mount transmitter offersdifferent configurations for mounting.

The transmitter operates to V dc. transmitter power terminals are rated V ModeThe Model 244E features software driven alarm diagnostics andan independent circuit. These features are designed to providebackup alarm outputs in case the microprocessor, electronics, hardware, or software fails. The alarm levels are user-selectableusing the failure mode switch. In case of alarm, the position of thejumper determines the direction in which the output is driven (HI orLO).

5 The jumper switch feeds into the digital-to-analog (D/A)converter, which drives the proper alarm output even if themicroprocessor fails. The values that the transmitter drives itsoutput in failure mode depends on whether it is factory configuredto standard or NAMUR compliant operation. The values forstandard and NAMUR-compliant operation are as follows. TABLE 1. Our advanced manufacturing techniquesand use of Statistical Process Control provide specification conformance to at least 3 (1). In addition, our commitment to continual improvement ensures that productdesign, reliability, and performance will improve every example, the Reference Accuracy distribution for the Model 244E TemperatureTransmitter is shown to the right. Our Specification Limits are C, but, as theshaded area shows, approximately 68% of the units perform three times better thanthe limits.

9 Therefore, it is very likely that you will receive a device that performs muchbetter than our published , a vendor who grades product without using Process Control, or who isnot committed to 3 performance, will ship a much higher percentage of units thatare barely within (or even outside of) advertised specification : Accuracy distribution shown is for Model 244E,Pt 100 RTD sensor, range 0 to 100 C.(1) Sigma ( ) is a statistical symbol to designate the standard deviation from the mean value of a normal p i ca lAccuracy3144-GRAPH 3 2 1 1 2 3 Product Data Sheet00813-0100-4737, Rev FAAugust 20015 Models 244EH and 244 ERAccuracyAccuracy ExampleWhen using a Pt 100 ( = ) sensor input with a 75 to 150 C range, the accuracy will be C of span + C C, whichever is greater.
