These compact, low profileunits can fit in small spaces and are flooror ceiling mounted. With a minimum ofeffort, they can be relocated within thebuilding as needs units are light-duty airhandlers, ranging from to tonsnominal capacity. They are typically usedin schools, hospitals, offices, stores, andsimilar applications.

3 These units are UL/CUL listed for all 60 hertz motor Packaged Means Single SourceResponsibilityTrane is the single source of responsibilitybecause we ship BCHC/BCVC units fromthe factory as a total package. Included inthe package are factory-mounted coils ,filters, controls, motors, drives, and ductcollars. Also, factory-provided pipingpackages are an available we provide the total package, this helps reduce jobsite labor andinstallation PackagesAll Blower coil air handlers are availablewith factory-built piping package optionsfor field installation using field-suppliedinterconnecting piping. Basic or deluxepiping package options are available witha variety of control valve options: 2 or 3-way 1/2 , 1 , or 1 1/4 2-position or basic piping package consists of twoshutoff ball valves. The deluxe pipingpackage has one shutoff ball valve, astrainer, and a circuit setter balancingvalve.

4 Basic or deluxe piping packageswith a three-way control valve alsoinclude a balancing fitting on the FB-1. Horizontal Blower coil with factory-provided piping package offers a broad array of controloptions, from a simple control interface tothe Tracer DDC control interface option consists of a9 1/2 x 13-inch control box mounted on thedrive side. This option also includes acircuit breaker transformer, motorcontactor(s), manual disconnect switch, and terminal Tracer controls family is the latest incontrol technology and includes theTracer ZN010, ZN510, and ZN520controllers. These controllers automati-cally determine the unit s correct operat-ing mode (heat/cool) by utilizing a propor-tional/integral (Pl) control algorithm tomaintain the space temperature at theactive setpoint. Entering water tempera-ture sampling eliminates the need forinefficient bleed lines to sense automaticchangeover on two-pipe changeoverunits.

5 The random start-up feature helpsreduce electrical demand peaks byrandomly staggering multiple units atstartup. Occupied/unoccupied operationallows the controller to utilize unoccupiedtemperature setpoints for energysavings. Warmup and cool-down energyfeatures are standard with trane con-trols. Continuous fan or fan cycling isavailable with Tracer ZN010 or operation can be monitored usingTracer Summit building managementsystem with ZN510 or ZN520. To custom-ize unit control, Tracer Summit orRover service software will allow fieldmodification of ZN510 and ZN520 defaultsettings. To field-modify ZN010, useRover service software to change defaultsettings. To maximize Blower coil effi-ciency with free cooling, economizers andmodulating valves are available on unitswith Tracer ZN520. Optional factory-mounted end devices such as a conden-sate float switch, freezestat, dirty filterswitch, fan status switch, control valves, and actuators are available.

6 Factoryinstalled and wired electric heat featuressingle-point power andBenefitsUNT-PRC003-EN5 FlexibilityThe trane Blower coil is available in eitherhorizontal (model BCHC) or vertical(model BCVC) configurations. Horizontalunits are typically ceiling suspended viathreaded rods. Knockouts are provided inall four corners to pass the rods throughthe unit. Horizontal units can also be floormounted. Vertical units are typically floormounted. They have a side inlet for easyduct connection, and do not require a fieldfabricated inlet plenum. Vertical units shipin two pieces and can be set up in either apre-swirl or counter-swirl coil, drain pan, and motor/driveassembly can easily be field-convertedfrom right hand to left hand configura-tions or vice addition, Blower coils have acousticalbenefits because they are typicallylocated outside the occupied space, eitherin the ceiling or in a closet.

7 This limits theamount of sound transmission (radiated)directly from the unit to the units are applied with dischargeductwork, which is frequently lined tohelp reduce the sound transmission(discharge) through the ductwork into theoccupied space. For optimal acousticalperformance, use three phase OptionsThe trane Blower coil features a widevariety of coil options that include: two, four, or six-row hydronic cooling orheating four and six-row DX coils high capacity hydronic coils for coolingor heating one or two-row heating coil in either thepreheat or reheat position one-row steam preheatFilter Placement OptionsAll units have an internal flat filter framefor one or two-inch filters. Other filterplacement options include: angle filter box for two-inch filters combination angle filter/mixing box bottom or top access filter box thataccomodates two-inch filters.

The basicpackage consists of a control valve andstop (ball) valves. The deluxe packageconsists of a control valve, a stop (ball)valve, a circuit setter, and and Drive OptionsBelt-drive motors range from 1/3 to 3horsepower in a wide range of motors have internal thermal andcurrent overloads, permanently sealedball bearings, and a resilient cradle mountto reduce noise and vibration pitch sheave drive kit optionshelp make it possible to more accuratelyselect design static additional flexibility, 115 volt singlephase, two speed motors are andBenefitsUNT-PRC003-EN6 Indoor Air QualityIndoor air quality is becoming a greaterconcern every day.

9 That s why Traneprovides the most complete indoor airquality options of any PansThe trane Blower coil uses a polymer oroptional stainless steel drain pan, slopedin both directions to drain properly. SeeFigure and CleanabilityTrane Blower coils have one-inch dualdensity insulation that meets NFPA90 Aand UL181, which is designed to with-stand high velocities. trane optionallyoffers one-inch foil faced insulation thatmeets NFPA90A, UL181, and bacterio-logical standard ASTM C mount above, not in, the drain panand are not a structural part of the coils are easily removable, sliding inand out on rails, for cleaning. The drainpan is also easily removable for units have an internal flat filter framethat can accommodate one-inch or two-inch filters. An optional bottom (horizontalunits) or top (vertical units) filter accessbox is also available to improve optional angle filter box (two inchonly), or combination angle filter/mixingbox, provides extra filter face area, which results in extremely low facevelocities and low pressure drop.

10 Withincreased face area, the angle filtershave substantially more dust-holdingcapacity than conventional flat percent efficiency pleated angle orflat filters options are optional dirty filter switch, or accumu-lated fan runtime hours (with TracerZN520 controls), indicates when the filterneeds optional mixing box deliversventilation air directly to each unit. Whenthe unit is equipped with a Tracer ZN520controller, the mixing box functions as azero to 100% economizer to improveenergy efficiency. For units configured toautomatically switch between high andlow fan speeds, the Tracer ZN520controller automatically adjusts themixing box damper to provide thecorrect amount of fresh air to the spaceat all fan coil units are draw-thru configu-rations that use higher horsepower, belt-driven fan motors. This makes them anFigure FB-2.
