When asystem discharge is completely closed suchas a closed spray gun, closed valved or pluggednozzle the Hydra-Cell Valve bypasses thetotal system fluid flow. They also balancesystem pressure for multiple-gun Hydra-Cell Valve design is simple: atapered plunger with a valve seat.

2 When excesspressure overcomes the adjustable springpressure on the plunger, the plunger lifts off theseat, allowing fluid to bypass and reducesystem pressure. When a Hydra-Cell Valve ismounted in the discharge line, its modifiedflow-through design reduces wear on theplunger and seat. Failure to do so mayresult in pressure spikes and premature system used as a pressure regulator, system pressure will increaseapproximately 10% when the system is fully bypassed.
