Caffeine in pregnancy

Fernandes et al (1998) found an association between intake of >150mg daily and increased miscarriage rates but was not able to modify for other confounding variables including maternal age, smoking or alcohol intake. Chen et al (2014) found that women who regularly drank >300mg caffeine a day were also more likely to smoke and drink alcohol.
